One Year Anniversary

This Monday August 13th is the BIG DAY!
We are crossing our fingers and HOPING with everything we have that we will be able to celebrate in California. We have been saving up the mula and working extra to be able to go to Cali.THEN... THIS happened...

Winston had to go under the car to remove and replace the oil pan. He worked hard until midnight and still no success at removing those nasty crusty bolts.

soon into the project my Dad even climbed under the car to help out. The wind and rain picked up so we had to create a little tent with a tarp the allow Winston to keep on working. When Winston finally came in at midnight he was COVERED in Oil and Grease.

Winston woke up at 5 am to continue working on getting those bolts out. Thankfully my Dad let us barrow his car so that Winston could go to work at 8am.. Those 2 little bolts is what is keeping us from our trip to Cali. We are hoping to leave Sunday night, we may have to have a stay-cation....

TO BE CONTINUED...  :)

MOVING and PACKING and CLEANING BEGINS NOW!

So, we found an apartment complex that isn't much farther from BYU then our current place that's cheaper and newer and cheaper, and has as dishwasher AND AIR CONDITIONING!! When we first moved into Wymount we assumed there would be air conditioning. yeah, they don't. sure you can put in a window thing, but it's just not the same.

Anyway, I've been doing random cleaning projects and today.. was bigger then what i expected. Winston has had a LOVE SAC for a few years now and it has never ever never ever been cleaned. SO, i unzipped the beast and MADE A HUGE MESS!!

How could this much be stuffed into such a small space?! the foam took over our whole bed!

So, if your thinking of throwing your old couch out, just tear out the foam in the cushions to make your own love sac :)

INDEXING Surprise!

OK, so i'll admit it.. i'm sort of addicted to indexing... and my whole ward knows it. The Dickinsons even made me a little surprise during their FHE last night and brought it by today. I laughed really really hard! i hope you enjoy it! MAYBE my ward will see it.. if i am feeling brave enough to wear it!

Steven mentioned that when he sees me carrying the treat basket he imagines little bunny ears on my head... THANK you Dickinsons for thinking of me!!

Relief Society Conference!!

Hey all! We had a super great week! The highlight of my week was being able to attend the Relief Society Conference with my Mom and two awesome sister Vanessa and Sarah! I got to watch Shae and Mason while my mom and Vanessa presenting on how to use blogging as a fun way to journal! It was so fun spending good one on one time with my niece and nephew. I got Shae to smile at me AND GIGGLE! It was glorious! and i even got a cute picture as proof!

The Theme of the Conference was "Guardians of the Hearth" which is same as the Visiting Teaching Message for February! ( http://www.lds.org/liahona/2012/02/guardians-of-the-hearth?lang=eng )
I didn't even know what a "hearth" was! SO i apparently had a lot to learn.

Here is a few highlights that i learned:

1. I need to focus on how i can strengthen my family.
       - Believe it or not, but there are a gabillion different ways to improve your family. I found wonderful idea's in Doctrine and Covenants 88: 119 - 126. I focused more on verse 119. I cleaned up the house! it was disorganized and driving me crazy! it needed to be more simple and easy to keep clean. so with 4 hours of work, i was 100% satisfied with my little "family strengthening project".

2. Even though i am not a mother YET,  I still need to be the BEST MOTHER that i can be to those children that i am around.

3. This is a big calling, to be a mother and protecting our family, but i can fulfill it by "follow[ing] the doctrines of Christ and rely on Him to help [me]." - Sister Thompson.  I found my idea on how to strengthen my family in the scriptures!

4. RELAX! You are Better then what you think you are! That was the message that Elder Baxter bore. It was relieving to hear and it rejuvenated my heart. i think we are our worst judge.

5. Another message from elder Baxter was to be Patient with yourself.
     - I have learned that patience is key when I work in the temple. If  i am frustrated that i am forgetting words, then it makes it even harder for me to learn. But i know that as i trust in the Lord and do my very best, i will become better, and more confident in myself.

AND... my FAVORITE!

 6. I learned how FUN blogging can be!
     - Vanessa really emphasized on the importance of setting yourself up for success by setting easy simple goals so that you do not get discouraged or overwhelmed. My goal is to try and put up at least a blog a month and the most a blog a week.
-I will mostly do it on fun things  that Winston and I do so that it will be a record for our future kids.
     -  I also want to try and add my testimony to my blogs. "sometimes a single phrase of testimony can set events in motion that affect someone's life for eternity."  -  Elder Uchtdorf

SO I commit YOU to try ONE little way to strengthen YOUR family, If you need some advice on what to do, comment below or look in the scriptures i mentioned before. My little act of cleaning and organizing really has made a huge impact on the way our house feels. I am A TON happier, and so is Winston.

-"I thought for a moment that it really didn’t pertain too much to me since I wasn’t married and didn’t have any children. But almost as quickly I thought, ‘But it does pertain to me. I am a member of a family. I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a niece, and a granddaughter. I do have responsibilities—and blessings—because I am a member of a family. Even if I were the only living member of my family, I am still a member of God’s family, and I have a responsibility to help strengthen other families.’” - Sister Thompson

We've Been Married 6 Months!

So what have we been doing with our time??
1. We LOVE spending time with Winston's  little brothers Jake and Ethan. We've cooked, shopped, hiked, and snowboarded with them.
2.  We had a fun date at the largest Dodge Ball fight in Utah.
3. We went on our first "camping trip" to Table top hill. It literally had a table at the top of the hill.
4. I cut my pointer finger on a glass cup while washing the dishes... and had to get about 6 stitches!
4. We went on a date at BYU to a costume dance party! Winston dress up as a Mexican wrestler and i dress up as Wonderwoman. It was a blast dancing and goofing off.
5. We also went to a few different art museums for Winston's class/ a date.
6. Winston got a new job at Eaton Alliance, It is a company that assists people in their homes with Autism. Winston is really loving the flexibility and one on one contact with the clients.
